i used to walk through the grass and not use the sidewalk on the way to the front door of my apartment building. well, until the last second, then I'd skip over this one patch of grass, onto the sidewalk and in the front door, most every day for my three years there. it was just a thing and i loved going home to that place and it's interesting to me - places that are home to you and the tread you make leaving them and coming home to them and how those steps are more special and sweeter than others because they mark your leaving and coming back to a place that is home to you. a place that holds you in one of the thousands of seasons we have on this planet.
the title is something that my sweet good Kezzi (who I lived with) said about her days with the little babes she takes care of. she just said it in passing one day and it was beautiful and I love her and it doesn't have anything to do with this patch of grass and sliver of a sidewalk I painted except that it was on the way into the apartment we shared, and you can title your paintings whatever you wannnnnntttttt.
